As residents and management return from evacuation, it is with anticipation and heavy hearts of concern. First the good news: As far as we know, no one was hurt and no Terra Mar Village property owners "lost" their homes to this storm. In general, it seems there is less wind related damage to trees, carports, and Florida room's then after Mathew. However, for those directly affected, there is much to clean up and rebuild. If you do not have insurance, please contact FEMA at https://www.disasterassistance.gov and let us know the "ins and outs" for others.
The bad news: Irma damaged most of the piers on the ICW with a heavy beating of storm surge, waves, and wind. Our pier looks to have come through better then others. We will do all that we can to assess damage and make repairs as quickly and economically as possible. Power is still out in the Village and according to an automated message, FPL hopes to have the power back on by the end of this weekend (but hopefully sooner). Our thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of families, many who lost everything, in the wake of "Harvey" and "Irma." Now is the time to count our blessings, deal with the tasks at hand, and focus on the positives. KJW Hot off the press! "Hi--Attached you will find attachments containing the 3-page form that you would need to fill out to join the House Watch program. Page 1 is informational, Pages 2 & 3 are the forms.--Annie" For more info please email Annie at: tmvra123@gmail.com There has been so much activity and fun, it's awfully hard for me to believe it's already March! I've had the great pleasure to spend a lot of time in and around the Village and enjoy seeing all the activities and Residents enjoying the park. We've been busy as a beaver and have accomplished a lot: there's new aluminum, new paint, replacement lighting, new cement stain, and many other projects finished and in process. This month the clubhouse will get a new window, we will continue to contact residents to clean up their part of the storage area, and we will be contracting to purchase and upgrade more landscaping and plantings around the pool. Spring (for me) is one of the most exciting times of year! Come on out, meet your neighbors and get involved in YOUR Village! |
